Karina Ryom, 37 år.
Mor til fem børn: Victor 4 år, Oskar 7 år, Gustav 10 år, Sofia 1,5 år og Martha 12 år.
Uddannet sygeplejerske (1996) og uddannet sundhedsplejerske* (juni 2009).
Arbejder til dagligt med både småbørn og skolebørn.
Karina har primært arbejdet med for tidligt fødte børn, syge og raske nyfødte.

*Karinas job som sundhedsplejerske indebærer:
At besøge familierne i hjemmene efter fødslen og frem til barnet er ca. 10 måneder.
At være konsulent for daginstitutionernes personale m.h.t. sundhedsfaglige problemstillinger
Arbejde med småbørn og skolebørn, hvor børnene screenes på højde, vægt, syn og hørelse, samt samtaler om sundhedsfaglige emner (kost, motion, pubertet og seksualvejledning m.m.).
Konsulent for daginstitutioner som indeholder arbejde på et kvindekrisecenter med særligt sårbare familier.

*Karina’s job as Health visitor involves:
To visit families at home after birth until the child is around 10 months old.
Being a consultant for Child Care staff in relation to occupational health issues
Working with toddlers and school children, where children are screened on height, weight, eyesight and hearing, as well as discussions of health professional issues (diet, exercise, puberty and sex education, etc.).
Consultant to day care which includes work on a woman crisis center of particularly vulnerable families.
